Pawley's Hammocks

Turn your back yard into your own private oasis with Pawley's Island Hammocks.
Pawley's Island Hammocks were originally designed for a restful night's sleep on hot summer nights by river boat pilot Joshua John Ward in 1889.  What started out as a practical solution to standard beds that were too hot to sleep on in warm weather is now the basis for a highly successful company that provides superior hammocks to well rested customers all over the world.

Their custom designed stretcher bars are specially designed to enhance stability and the gently sway of the hammock.  Pawley's Island Hammocks still use the hugely popular design originated by Captain Ward, but they have taken advantage of advances in materials to create hammocks that more weather resistant than the original design.  Pawley's Island Hammocks demonstrate their concern for the environment as well as their customers by using environmentally friendly metal powder coat finishing.
